Solid-Body Design

Simple. Solid. Sonically Superb.

Unique to our Custom In-Ear Monitors is a patent-pending Solid Body earphone design.

Each in-ear monitor begins with an ear impression. This impression is scanned into our system. Through our signature process, we manipulate the interior acoustic chambers of the Solstice design; arranging them in optimal position inside the shape of the impression. This also allows us the opportunity to optimize the performance of the earphone for your ear. This results in a better-sounding in-ear monitor. Fewer moving parts also means a more reliable in-ear monitor over the life of ownership. Solstice is designed to be an audio tool and it will do so for years even in the most demanding conditions.

Reference Performance

Flagship Foundations

Using our best-selling classic Andromeda driver configuration and sonic signature as a springboard, we created a custom in-ear monitor that is something truly sonically special.

With a custom fit and modified acoustic chamber design, Campfire Audio Solstice extends well beyond the edges first explored by Andromeda. Spacious high-frequency extension. Deep bass with plenty of sub-bass presence as support. However, the balance and even-handedness of Andromeda remain intact. This gives Solstice the immediate feature of playing well across genre and circumstance; a superb and versatile performer.

Exquisite Fit and Finish

Solstice features a meticulously buffed and hand-polished finish. The wonderfully smooth earphone body conforms comfortably to your individual ear shape; engineered to your anatomy.

Highlights

Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber

T.A.E.C.

Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber

Our tuned acoustic expansion chamber technology allows us to deliver extended high frequencies without sibilance or fatigue. We optimize our driver performance by adjusting the volume of space available in front of the driver. This is superior to the typical “Tube+Dampener” system because it provides a direct passage from the driver to your ear, which results in unsurpassed clarity and extension.

Solid-Body Design

Patent Pending from Campfire Audio

Our new solid-body design provides optimized acoustic performance by incorporating the tuning chambers of the earphone directly into the final IEM print.

3D Printed Interior

Carefully Designed for Optimum Sonic Performance

Close attention to detail is critical to delivering you a superior musical experience from our earphones. The Campfire Audio Solstice features an acoustically optimized interior model that allows each driver to deliver the very best sound quality. When heard together, the drivers offer a seamless musical experience as a result of this process.

Campfire Audio Solstice IEM

Solstice offers reference-grade sonics suitable for the purist audiophile, discerning musician, or technically focused engineer. Its overall fidelity is deep and resolved with notable detail retrieval and spatial characteristics.

Imaging and depth is expansive. Music sounds like it’s in an actual dimensional environment. With Radiohead’s “Subterranean Homesick Alien“, Solstice is a gateway into its vast soundscape. For mixing music, this allows for unique insight into panning, reverbs and delays.

At $1500, this isn’t the cheapest point of entry for a CIEM, but if apex-level build quality, ergonomics and performance is what you’re after, you might find yourself falling in love with Solstice.

Campfire Audio Solstice In-Ear Monitor Review

The bottom line is that the Solstice In-Ear Monitors sounded fantastic on almost every track I listened to, whether from CD and lossless streaming audio tracks on Amazon Music Ultra HD audio streaming service or the performance in the tests on AudioCheck…The IEMs also provide excellent spacial capabilities, allowing you to audibly place where a performer of an instrument is on a virtual stage when listening to some live performances.

  1. Edward Cassola (verified owner)

Superlative. Balanced, reference sound that indeed seems to expand on the beloved Andromeda (!). Revealing in the extreme, and no shortage of fun. Solstice fits as perfectly snug as you could imagine – zero pressure points. Yet I am blown away by just how long I can wear them…mine are the longer fit…I have not found a limit. The body material seems to disperse heat in a way that makes the monitors “disappear”. This changes everything I know about monitors. As usual the Campfire packaging is beautiful. Everything included is of noticeably high quality. Very pleased with the rapid turnaround after my impressions arrived. Massive thanks!

  2. Hung Khuong

Phenomenal sound stage and clarity. Definitely the andromeda signature but even better because of the perfect fit. The fit has just been nothing short of perfection. Every time I place them in my ears I am simply blown away by the comfort. I never tire from wearing them. Hats off to Campfire for making such a phenomenal CIEM.

  3. Jonathan Lesser (verified owner)

I am floored. I had ordered and received the Andromeda 2020’s but, for whatever reason, probably my strange outer ear anatomy, I could not get a good fit despite ordering multiple different ear cushions from a variety of places. I emailed CampFire Audio and asked them about the Solstice and custom fit. I ordered and paid for the Solstice and they let me keep the Andromeda while I got custom ear molds made at a local audiologist, sent them to Campfire, and had my custom IEMs manufactured. I sent back the Andromeda’s with the same FedEx gentleman who delivered the Solstice IEMs – these custom IEMs are the difference that makes a difference – what a pleasure to listen to. A perfect fit, just isolating enough (I ordered the “audiophile” version), comfortable, easy to insert, and the music is absolutely amazing. For mobile use, they stand up to my Abyss Diana V2’s and Focal Clears – a total pleasure. As I never could get a proper fit with the Andromeda,I cannot fairly compare the two IEMs. I can tell you that I enjoy the Solstice far more than my custom-fit Etymotic 4XR’s but they are also far less expensive. Other than the Etymotics, I have never had IEMs before so I am a bit of a novice although I do listen quite a bit with the above open-backed HPs with both solid state and tube amplifiers. I would give these 5 stars. A thank you to CampFire for their excellent customer support during these trying times!

There is little need to reiterate on the campfire and Aloaudio’s consistency of excellence in its audio engineering, build materials, and quality controls. I’m truly impressed by the audiophile fit mold, and how the cIEM simple “disappears” in my ears after a period of time. This my first pair of non Artist/traditional deep fit cIEM, and it has provide me with a level of comfort, of which I could not found in my Artist/traditional fit Noble and UE cIEMs. Not only was I referring to the shortened seal in the ear canals, but also the overall fit in both the upper and lower conchae of my ears, which goes a long way to show the incredible precision in the scanning and the machining process.

  5. Jay Lee (verified owner)

I listened Andromeda for years and am very familiar with the sound signature of those. The fit of Andro with Final Audio tips was OK for me, however I never liked wearing the cables looped over the ears so I started using ALO’s pure silver litz cable straight down from IEM. That adds a little bit of additional pressure to keep Andro loose in my ear, more than I would like when I have to move around. Now, here comes Solstice and I cannot be happier. The fit is so solid that I think I could use these in my running if I wanted to. (In reality, I will never do that—too isolating.) Even the sound is richer. I should give more time for break-in, but the bass seems to be hitting harder while the mid and high are the unmistakable classic Andro sound. I am so grateful that Campfire offered this version of Andro. I hope this lasts my lifetime and my inner ear shape never changes.

I’m not quite sure where to begin but if I were to put it in words, the Campfire Audio Solstice is really and simply exquisite. I can only describe what it’s like listening to these amazing in-ear monitors and it really unlocks the music. I bought these to compliment my subscription with TIDAL and what it does is deliver music that is so rich and detailed you can feel it. I’ve built up quite the list of songs in my playlist ranging from rock, EDM, R&B, jazz, hip-hop and pop prior to receiving my Solstice and I noticed that instrument-heavy music is where it really shines. Matchbox 20, Korn, Mushroomhead, just to name a few, now sounds so detailed that I can hear each instrument individually so clearly, with every guitar string vibration produced, every drum beat, every cymbal impact, each piano key pressed from the moment it is strummed, plucked, hit or pressed up until it fades down. You hear them down to the last detail without any premature disappearance in tone. Hip-hop tracks sound like live recordings as the case with DMX’s Grand Finale that I’m starting to hear details from artists vocals I’ve never heard before, background vocals that I never knew were there, studio production acoustics I wouldn’t normally hear from an average audio output. EDM tracks now have that “force” behind them and the Solstice doesn’t drown you with bass, even though it’s still present but in more adequate amounts, so every technical aspect of the track can be heard. Every bit of detail is presented with clarity. Music sounds so much richer and fuller. It’s such an amazing listening experience, really.
When it comes to the physical aspects of the IEMs, Campfire Audio must really pride themselves with paramount quality products (these being my first ones from CA). The hard shell casing is meticulously fabricated into a smooth finish. The fit is immaculate. Pop these in and you forget they’re there. Hours of use and not a moment of fatigue or need for readjustment. Now I’ll talk about the cable and why this is important; my first IEMs (not Campfire Audio) came with two-pin type connectors on the cable end that connects to the IEM. How this can present a problem is it prevents the IEM from swiveling or rotate freely if it had to. Whenever I store them, they can twist against the natural splice of the wires and there can be little to no indication that it was doing this. Eventually they simply snapped clean off from excessive twists. This happened in a couple of years of light use. It was a traumatizing experience. Campfire Audio’s choice of offering the single pin effectively eliminates this problem, giving the IEMs free movement which to me is a guarantee that I’ll have and will be enjoying these gems for a long time. Nicely done indeed!

  7. Sebastien Chiu

A little more than the Andromeda 2020 in custom form – more neutral and slightly more aggressive treble. The Solstice still manages to make itself a unique choice versus the latter, while still maintaining a massive soundstage, excellent technical capability in terms of imaging and instrument separation, and build quality/finish. Nicely done!

  8. Greg (verified owner)

incredible. didn’t know music could sound like this. Chris at Campfire was an absolute legend in helping me find the right model and fit. amazing customer service, even better product.

  9. Ratchanon (verified owner)

  10. Jake (verified owner)

The Solstice was my first set of CIEMs and I am very impressed with the entire experience. Campfire has amazing customer support and I couldn’t believe how quickly they got everything done.

Like everything else I have purchased from Campfire the fit and finish is everything you would expect from a HiFi company and some. The physical fit in my ear is superb it offers excellent sound isolation and can be worn for hours without discomfort.

The Solstice’s sound is very clean and precise without sounding sterile. The bass may not be for everyone, it is very clean and responsive but doesn’t have some of that really low end thump.
