Just received them and they’re a treat. I had previously owned Lyra, Comet, and Jupiter but these are my favorites. The sound is musical with a warmth that Jupiter lacked. They won’t be considered reference grade, but for a nice, crunchy sound, these are a great choice. Tons of fun and the new cable is soft but doesn’t feel delicate. I love you, Campfire Audio.

Really good clear sound with good bass. Not a neutral earphone. Definitely good for today’s music; sounds great with all others. Easy to drive. Love the hybrid factor. Now it’s time to go deeper and get the Solaris!!!

Polaris, V. 2, have such an aggressive and fun sound to them its hard to put them away. They have deep, thunderous bass that reaches into your soul and pulsates to the jam your listening to without sounding muddy or bloated. Instead, bass notes and bass tones come forward clearly and make an impact you can feel. Most earphones and headphones with bass heavy sound signatures have a ‘veiled’ sound to them muffling the rest of the music. That is not the case with the Polaris. The Polaris’ sound remains crystal clear amid the thick low end. The high’s sizzle without becoming sibilant. Vocals, high hats, and higher pitches resonate and the mids, though slightly recessed, can still be heard in all their glory. The Polaris delivers a clear, warm, and colorful sound with a ton of depth. If your looking for something that is reference or neutral, these are not for you. But if you’re a basshead looking for a bass heavy earphone that packs a wollop with detail to spare, look no further. You won’t be disappointed.
I am thoroughly impressed with these earphones. The unboxing experience was just that, an experience. The added accessories and eartips were more than enough to keep the earphones protected and to find the right fit for my ears. This purchase was worth every penny. Everything about Campfire screams class!

Bass was very bloated it was so bloated to the point where I can the metal housing vibrating definitely the worst CA IEM ever

Bass Bass Bass … big powerful sound that rumbles to the eardrum. complements the andromeda very well in sound signature you need both sadly but if you have the budget for both get the solaris instead. overall the definition of v shape sound signature. nicely done guys !

Compare to the first version, the vocal is much improved, and the bass also becomes stronger. I am also happy that the price is reduced. Overall, I think the polaris II is a great IEM

If you looking at these, then you probably already have some knowledge so I’ll keep it simple. Are you a basshead? Do you want to feel your body bump? If you want bass without distorting the rest, these are probably the best you can get in this price range. They really are amazing IEM’s. I f**king love these.

TL/DR; The Polaris are somewhat polarizing! If you like thunderous, seismic bass, and generally listen to music with thudding basslines, you’ll like the Polaris. If you don’t like meaty, impactful bass then my goodness, you’ll hate the Polaris.
You know those old land yachts that people put way too many subwoofers in and drive around rattling neighborhood windows? Yeah, that’s what the Polaris is, but with just enough Dynamat applied to keep the car from rattling itself into oblivion. When you wear them, your head shakes just like the frame of that poor car. Polaris renders deep, slamming bass and lots of it. Beyond having tons of volume, the lower frequencies are rendered with good texture and a warm, meaty tone. This much focus on the low end is a love it or hate it quality, and I personally love it.
Where Campfire’s tuning expertise shines through is that even with all that rumbly bass, the mids and highs are still quite distinct and aren’t smothered into oblivion. That being said, the low end is the star of the show. The Polaris aren’t incredibly detailed in the mids, and while the T.E.A.C. BA used for the highs does add some pop and sparkle, they lack the detail and accuracy I’d normally associate with balanced armatures.
As for build quality, the unboxing of the Polaris was an experience, everything arranged neatly and sequentially. The IEMs themselves are thoughtfully designed for comfort, and beautifully machined. The stock cable has a plastic 3.5mm termination which isn’t my favorite, but the cable itself is wonderfully pliable and tangle-free.
The included carry case is nicely implemented and feels very premium. I hope it weathers with age and becomes beautifully worn. The Polaris also comes with 2-section foam mesh dividers for keeping the two IEMs from knocking against each other in the case and scuffing their anodized finish. This is a nice touch, but it’s fiddly to get them in and out and honestly I just end up shoving the IEMs and cable into the blue leather case without packing the individual monitors away separately.
I’m giving it a conditional 5 stars, – the bass emphasis makes these not as versatile as a more neutrally-tuned earphone. Golly, the Polaris make the right tracks amazing though. If you don’t listen to music with a kick, I’d steer clear of these, but if you like a rocking out to the right music, these will render it in the funnest way possible.

All i have to say is wow , i’ve never been so blown away by a pair of IEMs. The build Quality is second to none, they feel like they’re worth way more than what I paid. The sound is spectacular the bass is exactly what i was looking for!
darrinS –
wow! these sound great especially through my DAC. the most comfortable in-ear headphones i have ever used. i can wear them for hours, they stay in place and feel so nice. the blue leather bag is perfect and i really appreciate that they came with so many tips. i easily found the perfect size for me. thank you campfire audio!

I have owned several in-ear headphones made by other companies, some really high-end companies, in the past. The Polaris is, by far, the best earphones I’ve ever encountered. The bass and treble, and the sound quality, are unmatched. How all those great sounds are emanating from earphones of this size, is beyond me. Keep up the good work!

These are what i consider to be perfect for mobile use. The bass has tons of authority so you can hear it no matter where you are or what youre doing. The mids are sweet and the highs have shimmer without being piercing. There are also very easy to drive. Of all the headphones ive used with my LG G8 phone, nothing was as easy to drive. 50% volume is ridiculously loud! These things are worth the money no doubt.

Punchy but very defined bass. All reviews I read/watched said that, but the rest of the spectrum is very clear as well, which I did not expect. They are my go-to IEMs!
Dan (verified owner) –
I really did not know what to expect from these. See, this is my first pair of IEM and didn’t even know music could sound so good! I am very impressed by the sound quality and the craftmanship that went into these. They look awesome and sound so good! Now I know why people pay hundreds for good headphones and IEM’s! I’m not as tech savy with all thse phrases I don’t know high, med, and low’s. All I know is they make me want to dance and sing. They make me want to be a kid again. So thank you.

These are unlike any other IEMs with a V-shaped sound signature I’ve tried. These are that car at the stoplight whose windows are rattling and you can hear the bass from their music over your own stereo. I mean this in the best way possible, but these are a straight-up sonic assault. It’s like being on the floor at a concert. Nothing sounds like it did on the album, and your bones are rattling, but it’s just so much fun. These are very V shaped. There’s nothing wrong with the mids, it’s just that the highs and lows are turned up so much that they kind of overwhelm them.
That said, the mids are still exceptionally clear. I don’t feel like I’m losing anything with these, which is untrue of a lot of other V-shaped IEMs. I can’t in good conscience recommend these to everyone, hence the missing star, but these fit my tastes in music perfectly. If you listen to a lot of high energy music with an emphasis on bass, metal for instance, then these might be for you.

Avoid at all cost. In good case you got all the base in your face, while the rest of the song is playing across the street, on more unlucky songs, the base is in your face, the rest of the song plays across the street, while somebody stabs your ear drums at every more pronounced “S”. Honestly this is a step back even from one of more popular 45$ IEM. I even got a BTR5 just to make this usable and it improved like 5%. Did anyone from Campfire actually tested this? What do I need to have to use them? Do I need to burn them first? you didn’t say anything about that in the manual like HifiMan did. The problem is I got them as a present, and I can’t just throw them away and pretend I never had them.
Stephen –
Just amazing. A coworker let me use his IEM for a hour and I was hooked. Extreme amounts of bass and extreme clarity for midrange and highs. I use an equalizer to really custom the sound. You will not be disappointed. I could not justify buying the solaris.
Vadim Zamfir –
Excellent headphone, especially for modern music but not only. This headphone has excellent highs, engaging mids, and THUNDERING lows – but in no way mudy – the lows are tune din such a way that the sub-bass feels actually natural, and the mid-bass has a lot of slam and speed, with very natural decay. I ended up buying these after testing them against the Fiio FH7 – which are more detailed, but much more anemic and soft on the bass. In fact, the Polaris v2 are the only IEM that gave me the same sound signature and feeling as I get at home listening to my stereo system, which consists of 2 towers (Triangle Genese QuarteT) and a sub (Dynavoice T12), which is seamlessly integrated and offers a very calibrated and natural extension down to 19hz. What I mean by this is that the Polaris v2’s low frequencies actually sound like a hi-fi that goes down to the sub-bass era (either assisted by a sub or not) with authority, whereas all the “natural” or “flat” IEM i’ve tested (Andromeda and Solaris including) sound like you’re listening to a pair of speakers with very weak sub-bass extension (but fast and accurate bass).
Dug Scott –
Definitely not a neutral tuning, but if you like strong, but not over muddied bas, then these are absolute gems of an IEM. I mainly listen to a mixture of rock and electronic music, for my ears, these are the best sounding IEM’s i’ve had the pleasure to listen to, they never fail to put a smile on my face. I previously owned the Campfire Audio Andromeda’s, I’ve now sold the Andromeda’s as i prefer the sound of the Polaris 2. I had custom moulds done by Snugs, here in the UK, for my Andromeda’s, fortunately the housing of the Polaris 2 is the same size as the Andromeda’s so the moulds fit perfectly on the Polaris 2’s.

Great sound, excellent bass. Had these only a few months, use them indoors, never on the go and I’m very careful when using them. But there are noticeable paint chips already. Would of gladly gave them 5 stars if not for the paint chips under moderate use. Hope the next generation of Polaris will not have this problem.

The soundstage is notably large in height, expanse, breadth, and width with live bona fide energy which grabs you. They seem to take on their own personality. CA has managed to harness a big and powerful bass that delivers each note within clear layers with detailed sonic lows that are life-like, unfiltered, and capable. The range going up is warmly accurate and lively. Mid-range and highs are perfect in playing their part with no ceiling, only expanse. The Polaris realizes every minute portion of sound with stunning presentation. The low-end bias enhances every passage beyond.
