Best IEM the money could possibly buy. If you compared it to its competitors, such as, Shure SE846 and Senneheiser IE800; the dorado’s offer much better value than its competitors like having a better cable and case. In addition, the Dorado’s have much better build quality and a beautiful rose gold like finish. The finish is so utterly gorgeous that you could just wear them as an accessory. Moving on to sound quality, the bass is unreal probably out of this world especially if you like bassy songs (Justice-Woman, Randy). However, it’s preferable to have good DAC portable one of course, such as, Chord MOJO. If not, I highly suggest save your money on buying a good DAC then consider buying a high end IEM ,in order to, reach its full potential. Seal is crucial to have good bass response; I highly suggest trying all the foam tips when you receive your IEM’s. All in all, the Dorado’s are so good that will make you listen to your whole music library all over again: which is great.

Dorado is my first pair of iem and it’s splendid! I really love the deep bass! Foam tips is the way to go with Dorado.

I dont have any other high ends to compare them to, but with that being said, they are the best headphones I have ever heard in my life. Great for electronic music genres. Worth every penny, robust build quality, excellent sound quality!

Had a chance to break these in and compare them to the Vega’s. The Dorado may be slightly cheaper than Vega, but dont be fooled the sound quality is equal in quality but different in character. To my ears the Dorado has a very slight XxX sound signature but almost flat. The bass is warm, booming, deep and strong but not overly aggressive. The Mids are sweet, creamy, airy and clear. The Treble is snappy, hypnotic, very defined, surgical but by no means sterile. Dorado has a very hypnotic, magical, angelic, heavenly airiness to it that is mesmerizing. I listen primarily to electronic music, to me it sound best with, Trance, House, Chillout, Chillstep, Ambient, Smooth Jazz, Ballads, easy listening, and softer more melodic Pop music. It has the kind of sound that will send you into a fantasy dream land and make you forget reality. Does NOT do well with aggressive music, movies or video games. I love them, they shine in more relaxed genre’s and do not do well in aggressive genre’s. Amazing a master at their niche, but definitely not a jack of all trades.

My trip with Campfire Audio started only 6 month ago, when I first purchased the Polaris-II (yes I was at that “level” at that -very recent- time).
And this was the purchase that changed everything: I loved so much their sound signature that I wanted more of this, but in a more refined-detailed way.
I then went for the Lyra-II, big step up from the Polaris-II (in terms of clarity) and although I loved them too, I still wanted something with more bass (closest to the Polaris-II) than what the Lyra-II could give.
So, there appeared the ATLAS: oh Gosh, w-h-a-t a h-e-l-l o-f a s-o-u-n-d… Divine sound. But, the fitting problem (the only, but huge for me disandantage of the ATLAS) was so inconvienient that these IEMs where falling off my ears unless I was using them at home, but never while I was moving arround… I tried every possible fiting position with them and with every eartip I had, but still that fiting problem was the big downfall so I decided to give them. Unfortunately.
After reading some reviews, I decided to pull the trigger for the DORADO and that was finally my wisest move -till now-: this is the sound as I want it to be; in my car, at my home’s speakers, over the ears, in-ears, I mean, I L-O-V-E DORADO so so much, they are like they were made exclusively for myself! I don’t know who designed these, Ken or someone else, but it’s like they were custom-made for my own self…. I read some complaints in reviews arround the net, about the long nozzle and even that I previously had that huge fiting problem with the ATLAS, the DORADO is like they took my earptints and made this beauty exclusively for me…
Right now I’m waiting for the VEGA, not because I’m not 100% covered by the DORADO, but because I miss sometimes that gigantic sound the ATLAS give.
To close here, I’d like to add that during this same time of the last 6 months, I have tried many different IEMs from many other companies (Astell&Kern, JH Audio, Final Audio, Custom Art, Fiio, etc.) and Ken’s Campfire is by far my personal preference in terms of sound signature. The sound as it has to be.
