Andromeda Special Edition: Gold adds 2 additional balanced armature drivers to Andromeda’s standard 5 BA design. These bass drivers provide more weight and depth to the low-frequency delivery.

Our premium black leather zipper case features luxurious leather which surrounds a substantial and protective rubber barrier that ensures that your earphones will remain safe while in transit. The interior is a dense faux wool lining that preserves the anodized finish of your earphones. These landed on my desk this morning. Have them hooked to a Sony NW-ZX300 DAP, using the stock cable. These are truely special IEMs. Spacious soundstage, with, to my ears nicely balanced presentation. Although these can produced deep base, it is not overpowering, as some headphones are now-a-days. Listening to some high rez Simon and Garfunkel, I was startled as to the layering, and positioning of the music. The fit & finish are top notch, as it usually is for this brand. I have smallish ear canals, and typically have issues with fitting IEMs. I achieved great fit, and comfort with the medium silicone tips.

Lows — Mids — Highs, everything I’m looking for is there.
Paired with my Sony NW-ZX300 (Single Ended), the Campfire Audio Andromeda Special Edition Gold are engaging and musical, without being in your face.
I can hear small details and audio cues here and there yet, without any annoyance that details can sometimes bring.
Their soundstage is just right. I was afraid of getting a strange out of you head experience, but no, what I got nailed it.
The lows are there, really there, in the sense that I can feel them. I also (re)discover that there’s texture to music.
In summary, the Campfire Audio Andromeda Special Edition Gold put a smile on my face.
They make me enjoy my music even more which, more importantly, makes me happy.

I own the original Andromeda’s, the stainless Andromeda’s and now the gold Andromeda’s.
Out of the three of them , I am enjoying the Gold the most .
I can listen all day without fatigue , makes listening so enjoyable.

this is my 5th pair of andromedas, from the original, to the white, the pacific blue, and the stainless steel. but this pair of Special Edition has the sound signature that really fit my taste of how an IEM should sound for all genres of music that i listen to, from metal to jazz, to classical. they had been my on the go companion almost everyday since they arrived. the five stars i give is for the sound quality. however, for the price i paid, this is what i did not expect to experience from these outstanding IEMs. the right mmcx receptacle is wobbling. to the point that i am afraid to use them anymore for the fear that it may go off and break anytime. i even got the habit of touching my right ear while using these IEMs on the go because i worry that i would lose the right earpiece or would fall off without me knowing and get crushed by passers-by. this for me is not worth the money i spent to have these IEMs. sent these back a few months ago, hoping that it will get repaired. but i was told that this wobbling is still within normal. i say, for the price of this pair, this is not suppose to happen. i have seen and tried cheaper IEMs and the receptacle of the mmcx cable doesnt move this much. i insisted to the CA personnel who catered to my query, but they just replied that they will return the IEMs without any repair done. im really disappointed. this is not what i had expected from a premium IEM and from the CA support..
