Arlo C. Hark
Arlo C. Hark – a man of many hats – is a furniture maker, shepherd, and songwriter living and working in Northfield, Minnesota. Throughout his varied work and interests, music has remained a central focus – an essential outlet for the expression of his lived experience.
Arlo grew up in Northfield and moved to Maine in 2013 for his Undergrad, where he studied Human Ecology at the College of the Atlantic. After college, Arlo and his wife moved back to Northfield, where he started working as a furniture maker for an old family friend, Matt Eastvold, of Eastvold Furniture.
“Over the last few years, I’ve begun taking on some side work, and last summer I was connected with a HiFi installation company by the name of Uncanned Music (they do HiFi installs at bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.) I was stoked to be able to build a DJ booth for an installation at Young Joni and help with the installation of the speakers.”

Among the many hats of Arlo C. Hark is that of a shepherd. When Arlo and his wife moved back to Northfield, they acquired a small flock of sheep and began Cannon Valley Graziers, a livestock-powered vegetation management company. Four years later, they now provide vegetation management services to solar developers in the Northfield area. Hired as an alternative to traditional mowers, their flock of about 60 sheep travel to different sites and eat the vegetation as a form of low-impact landscape management.

“Through it all, music has been a pivot point. It’s a central way that I relate to the world and is an essential outlet through which I’ve been able to express my own, human experience.”

Studio-Quality Sound
“As a musician and appreciator of music, Holocene are a hugely powerful tool for a fully immersive experience. They’ve been great for referencing mixes for an upcoming release at home. Studio-quality sound in a creative environment.”
